Wine Spotlight: La Louvière 2017 La Séductrice
2017 LA LOUVIÈRE LA SÉDUCTRICE, LANGUEDOC, FRANCE
While living in Belgium, this delicious red blend became my wife and I’s go-to or “weekend water”, especially during the long dark Belgian winters. Hailing from Languedoc in the south of France, La Séductrice is a Cabernet Franc/Malbec/Merlot (20/20/60) blend, which focuses on the red and black fruits of the Merlot, but the Cab Franc smooths out the spice of the Malbec to make a delicious and complex blend. A gorgeous ruby color and medium aromas of blackcurrant, cherry, and plum on the nose. Ripe fruits with a bit of earthiness as well. Dry and rich with soft tannins on the palette, and an easy drinker after 10-15 min once opened. Flavors of raspberry, plum, black cherry and tobacco with a bit of vanilla and oak from the barrel aging. Medium alcohol, acidity, and finish, making it extremely enjoyable for the red wine lover, and even those on the fence. Priced below $20, a very affordable and quality wine!
